Jab They Rocked!!!

Okay!Okay! I'm back to writing movie reviews again...If no other career option works out, maybe I'll grow up to be a film critic, judging by the way I've got Bollywood gyan(or "The Hindi Film Industry" knowledge) at my fingertips.

As they say,'When two cats fight, the monkey gains'...Confused? Allow me to explain- the 'Cats' in this case study would be Om Shanti Om and Sssssaaaaawariyaaaa(i luv fooling around with the spelling!)
The monkey-Jab We Met...So,while the biggies are busy bickering about the date of release...a cute, adorable, enjoyable flick like Jab We Met has already stolen the show. Trust me, u've reached the height of ignorance if u haven't seen it yet. Fantastic performances(I'm not being biased to my favourite actor,Shahid...And yes,Kareena Kapoor has also proved that she actually can act!) Nice characterisation, good script, beautiful locations(read:Manali),great music...all-in all, three blissful hours of entertainment!

In the meanwhile, articleship has finally started and if I tell you that its hectic, then I'm putting it mildly!
Its 'child labour' if you ask me!!!

PCC Class,college,articleship,studies,projects,exams...where's the fun factor in life???!!! We're barely 18!!! lol!:)!:)!:)! But it ain't that bad really. Maybe a tad tiring but I guess its manageable. And I finally know what people mean when they answer the phone n say -"I'm busy. I'll call back." As of now, I'm hoping someone invents a time-turner like the one in the Harry Potter books, so that I can stuff a million things-to-do in 24 hours of a day.

Anyway, I gotta rush. "I'm Busy!". Catch ya later!Toodles!

PS- Happy Birthday, SRK!!!:)

Boredom...

Sorry all you fans of the colour PINK! I just attained new heights of boredom and decided to change the blog colour to BLUE!
Isn't it funny the way boredom strikes? A lazy Tuesday afternoon... a nice sense of achievement over a reasonably good Business Communication paper( My exams r going on !!!)...My next paper is day after and I have no intention to study until the last minute... I'm too bored to read Mein Kamph(For the uninitiated,Mein Kamph is Hitler's autobiography)... I'm too bored to listen to music...There are no good movies on the tele (they showed Harry Potter, Freaky Friday & Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen...all in one day i.e- the day BEFORE my exam!)

I absolutely love the promos of Sawariya, Om Shanti Om, Aaja Nachle & Jab We Met(Note: The blog author does not take into consideration the various numerology obsessions of moviemakers...or else I think it would be 'Sssaawwarriyaa' or something like that) But I don't get one thing- Why does everyone wanna release their movie on the same day??? I mean, so what if its a festival? Do they actually believe that people are gonna watch 3 movies in a day??? I think the people are enlightened enough to consider the critic's reviews before stepping into the theatre... And the critics are not the nicest people... Their opinions and 'Stars' are what ultimately decide the fate of the movie...

I sure hope India wins the Future Cup against the Aussies. Especially after the Cold War that Ricky Ponting started. But frankly, I do admit - Australia is the better team when it comes to ODIs...

Anyway, coming back to the point, I'm Bored!!!
Infact, I'm so bored, I dunno what else to write about! So until I reach the next level of boredom, this is Suchita, signing off...

It rained...and I had just finished Correlation & Regression....

It rained...and I was supposed to begin Sampling Theory..

It rained...and I just didn't wanna study...

So I slammed shut my CPT Maths module....

Went straight to the balcony...armed with my cellphone camera...

And clicked away to glory...

The garden- drenched in the rain...

The plants- drowning in the raindrops...

Sigh! Paradise on Earth, ain't it?

PS- I'm gonna miss the rains !!! :(

THE best CRICKET match EVER!!!

Okay, I'll be honest- I'm not much of a Cricket fanatic. But this time, it was different. For one, I was terribly bored of studies. Besides that, it was the Twenty20 Final. In addition, it was India V/S none other than, Pakistan. So I decided to gather a group of friends to watch the match. I quote here my exact words-"I'm gonna stay for only about an hour or so... Really have to get back to studies after that!".....Little did I know that the match was gonna be such a thriller that I would end up waiting to watch the presentation too!

THE BEGINNING- The scene- 6 girls(contrary to popular belief that girls don't watch Cricket) and my friend's cute little doggie, FIGO(Trust me, he is the cutest dog on the planet!), watching the match intently...It was a modest start...Gambhir was doin gr8...there were occasional boundaries & all seemed well....Then came the blow- Yuvraj & Dhoni got out for a measly score...Gambhir too lucked out at 75...we were hoping that Pakistan's Umar "GUL" would "DISAPPEAR"! Will India cross 150 runs??? Chances were bleak......

HALF-WAY THRU' THE MATCH- India managed 157...not an impossible target! It was all upto our bowlers now... And SRK comes to watch the match :) :) :)

A CULMINATION OF SORTS- Pakistan was 2 wickets down but their run-rate was soaring! We were pre-occupied with Pizza, Chinese & Coke... Slowly & Steadily their wickets fell, yet,59 off 29 was easily achievable...Then came Misbah-UL-Haq...trying to imitate Yuvraj with his batting prowess...We abandoned the food and took an oath- "If we win, then I eat the rest...If we don't, then feed it to the dog!" 13 runs off 6 balls...2 sixes & they would've almost won...there was panic as Misbah scored a six...then there was a wide...6 runs required from 4 balls...some of us had already given up all hope...the only ray of hope was that Pakistan was 9 wickets down... Jogender bowls... Misbah hits...its in the air...
"NOooooo!!!!!! They've WON!"
"See! I told you they'd win!"
"Hey! That was a wide!"
"OMG! Its going for a six!"
"Yikes! I just bit my fingernail off!"
"Wicket! Wicket! Please take a Wicket!!!"
And as Sreesanth took the catch, there were wild screams of utmost joy, screams that defined victory, screams that celebrated the Indian spirit (we scared poor Figo out of his guts!) Team India had won the match, the T20 cup & restored the pride that they lost at the World Cup! Like I said, it was "THE best CRICKET match EVER!!!" :) :) :)

That Sinking Feeling...

Right when the tension tide was beginning to ebb, I received the dreaded news- CPT results on the 11th! Maybe we should've been taught how to deal with shocks & scares too- CPT paper leaked, re-exam in 3 weeks! Now, results in 3 days & I have NO clue about my plans for articleship, PCC classes, Computer training, F.Y.B.Com...etc.,etc.,etc...

Just went for a shopping trip today...Little did I know that extra-slim 18-yr-olds are not expected to wear formals-be it Indian or Western formals(the shops don't have anything below the plus size!)...That wasn't it though. I completely lost my cool when one of the shopkeepers suggested I go to the KID'S section! Kid's section?!?!?!?! I'm now officially an adult!!! Looking on the bright side though, its nice to get those occasional compliments about being slim...and again, since I still seem to look like a 14-yr-old maybe I won't have to worry when I'm 60!

India plays England today in the final match of the series...I get a good feeling about this! Go Tendulkar! And please don't quit ODI's! The team is nothing without him! Anyway, gotta go watch the match...ChakDe India!(still haven't been able to get that movie outta my mind)

PS- See, I'm back to blogging the way I used to...No preachy sayings or nething of the sort!

This goes out to all those movie stars who've been busy stepping in & out of jails(as convicts) & shrines(as "sincere devotees")...

Chak De INDIA!

Very rarely do Hindi movies inspire or fascinate me as was apparent from my previous blog. But this masterpiece of a movie did just that! A simple storyline about a Women's Hockey Team (in a male-dominated, cricket-dominated country) & a superstar like SRK did the trick. No Karan Johar family drama, no Sanjay Leela Bhansali costume drama(remember Devdas???) and yet, the film is a huge success. Besides that, this is the only movie where I forgot all sophistication & culture and found myself blatantly screaming, shouting, clapping & cheering at the theatre. Such, is the feel-good factor of the movie. Mind-blowing performances by the starcast, great direction & rocking background music make Chak De India a must-watch.
*Breaks into a cheerleading song*
"Gimme a 'C', Gimme an 'H', Gimme an 'A', Gimme a 'K', Gimme a 'D', Gimme an 'E', Gimme an 'I', Gimme a 'N', Gimme a 'D', Gimme an 'I', Gimme an 'A' ! And what do you get??? CHAK DE INDIA!!!!! " wooohooo!!!
